Full competition results: 32nd Polish Youth Olympics (Summer Sports) — Polish Championships
Four days of racing and three days of finals on the Bydgoszcz-Brdyujście regatta course, from 30 July to 2 August 2026: 45 finals, 134 medals and 428 athletes — of whom only 146 went home with anything. The 32nd Polish Youth Olympics (Ogólnopolska Olimpiada Młodzieży) and the Polish Junior Championships in canoe sprint closed in Bydgoszcz on 2 August with a set of numbers that reads differently depending on how you slice it, and the slicing is where the story is.
Bydgoszcz 2026 medal table — combined standings
Fifty-nine clubs entered the Bydgoszcz regatta. Thirty-three of them medalled. Here is the top eight of the combined table, covering both championships together.
| Club | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KS GPower Gorzów | 7 | 1 | 0 | 8 |
| UKS Silvant Kajak Elbląg | 4 | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz | 3 | 8 | 7 | 18 |
| UMKS Zryw Wolsztyn | 3 | 2 | 5 | 10 |
| KS Posnania Poznań | 3 | 1 | 2 | 6 |
| UKS Victoria Wałcz | 3 | 1 | 1 | 5 |
| KS Warta Poznań | 3 | 1 | 0 | 4 |
| WTS Astoria Bydgoszcz | 2 | 6 | 2 | 10 |
KS GPower Gorzów at the top is the shortest possible summary of these championships: seven titles, one silver, no bronze. The club entered ten athletes and won as many finals as the three Bydgoszcz clubs combined. CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz has the biggest medal count in the table — eighteen — but only three golds. Eight silvers and seven bronzes describe a club that reaches the podium almost everywhere and almost never wins.
Youth Olympics vs Junior Championships: what is the difference
This is where the combined table hides more than it shows. Bydgoszcz staged two separate championships in one week:
- the Polish Junior Championships — junior age group (born 2008–2009), 26 events, 77 medals, 170 athletes;
- the Polish Youth Olympics — younger-junior age group (born 2010–2011), 19 events, 57 medals, 258 athletes.
The separation was absolute: no athlete raced in both categories. 170 plus 258 is exactly 428 — the whole entry, with no overlap. Two populations, two sets of national titles and two club hierarchies that simply disappear when the medals are added together.
Polish Junior Championships 2026 — club medal table
| Club | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KS GPower Gorzów | 4 | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| UMKS Zryw Wolsztyn | 3 | 1 | 4 | 8 |
| UKS Silvant Kajak Elbląg | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 |
| KS Warta Poznań | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 |
| CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz | 2 | 7 | 2 | 11 |
| KS AZS-AWF Gorzów | 2 | 0 | 1 | 3 |
| WTS Astoria Bydgoszcz | 1 | 3 | 1 | 5 |
| MKS Czechowice-Dziedzice | 1 | 2 | 2 | 5 |
Twenty-two clubs won a junior championship medal. Gorzów took six of the 26 titles — four through GPower, two through AZS-AWF. The three short-list clubs — GPower, Silvant Elbląg and Warta Poznań — won three or four finals apiece without a single bronze between them.
Polish Youth Olympics 2026 — club medal table
| Club | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UKS Victoria Wałcz | 3 | 1 | 1 | 5 |
| KS Posnania Poznań | 3 | 1 | 0 | 4 |
| KS GPower Gorzów | 3 | 1 | 0 | 4 |
| Dojlidy Białystok Canoe & Kajak Team | 2 | 0 | 1 | 3 |
| UKS Kopernik Bydgoszcz | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
| WTS Astoria Bydgoszcz | 1 | 3 | 1 | 5 |
| CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz | 1 | 1 | 5 | 7 |
| KST Włókniarz Chełmża | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 |
The younger-junior order is entirely different. UKS Victoria Wałcz leads it — a club sitting sixth in the combined table and without a single medal in the Junior Championships. Dojlidy Białystok and UKS Kopernik Bydgoszcz climb high, almost entirely on the younger age group. Zawisza, the combined table's volume leader, has seven medals and one title here, five of them bronze.
The Youth Olympics also carries its own official regional standings, which matter more inside it than the club table does.
Youth Olympics 2026 — voivodeship standings
| Voivodeship | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kuyavian-Pomeranian | 5 | 5 | 6 | 16 |
| Greater Poland | 3 | 7 | 3 | 13 |
| West Pomeranian | 3 | 1 | 2 | 6 |
| Lubusz | 3 | 1 | 1 | 5 |
| Podlaskie | 2 | 1 | 4 | 7 |
| Warmian-Masurian | 1 | 2 | 1 | 4 |
| Silesian | 1 | 2 | 0 | 3 |
| Pomeranian | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
| Opole | 0 | 0 | 2 | 2 |
The hosts win it with five titles — but the margin over Greater Poland is two, and over West Pomeranian and Lubusz it is two as well, off sixteen medals against thirteen and six. That is a win built on volume rather than dominance.

Club efficiency: entries against medals
A medal table says who won. It does not say at what cost. Of 428 starters, 146 won a medal — 34 percent of the field. The rate is markedly higher in the junior category (70 of 170, or 41 percent) than in the Youth Olympics (76 of 258, or 30 percent), because the younger age group was larger and raced fewer events.
Setting entries against medals reorders the clubs in a way the medal table cannot show:
| Club | Athletes | Medals | Medals per athlete | Medalled |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UMKS Zryw Wolsztyn | 9 | 10 | 1.11 | 7 (78%) |
| UKS Victoria Wałcz | 6 | 5 | 0.83 | 4 (67%) |
| KS GPower Gorzów | 10 | 8 | 0.80 | 8 (80%) |
| KST Włókniarz Chełmża | 10 | 6 | 0.60 | 6 (60%) |
| KS AZS-AWF Gorzów | 7 | 4 | 0.57 | 4 (57%) |
| WTS Astoria Bydgoszcz | 21 | 10 | 0.48 | 10 (48%) |
| CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz | 47 | 18 | 0.38 | 20 (43%) |
| KS AZS-AWF Poznań | 32 | 7 | 0.22 | 10 (31%) |
| KS Posnania Poznań | 31 | 6 | 0.19 | 12 (39%) |
Crew medals are counted once while medallists are counted individually — which is why CWZS Zawisza Bydgoszcz shows eighteen medals against twenty athletes on a podium.
The gap is fundamental. UMKS Zryw Wolsztyn brought nine people and won ten medals — seven of the nine stood on a podium. KS Posnania Poznań brought 31 and won six. Both squads have three titles; one produced them with a third of its roster, the other needed all of it.
The efficiency record belongs to KS GPower Gorzów: eight of ten entered athletes medalled, and the club won seven finals. Eighty percent of a roster on the podium is unreachable at scale — Zawisza put twenty of 47 names on a podium, 43 percent, which is a respectable rate for a squad that size.
At the other end are the clubs that came in numbers and left without a medal. In total, 26 of the 59 clubs went home empty-handed, eight of them with squads of five or more:
| Club | Athletes | Medals |
|---|---|---|
| MMKS Gdańskie Lwy | 9 | 0 |
| MOSM Tychy | 6 | 0 |
| UKS 4 Katowice | 6 | 0 |
| KK Jezioro Tarnobrzeg | 5 | 0 |
| MKS Polstyr Człuchów | 5 | 0 |
| UKS Pamiątkowo | 5 | 0 |
| LTK Fala Lublin | 5 | 0 |
| UKS Sokolik przy ZS Czernin | 5 | 0 |
The standout athletes: three titles and an international season
Three athletes won three finals each, all in the junior category.
Julia Piasecka of UKS Silvant Kajak Elbląg swept the single kayak distances: 200 m (44.23), 500 m (1:56.26) and 1000 m (4:18.38). Winning races that run from forty-four seconds to over four minutes takes three different physiologies, and it is the single strongest result of the championships. Piasecka arrived off a season in which she was fourth over 1000 m and fifth over 500 m at the Junior and U23 World Championships in Halifax, and took K1 1000 m silver at the 89th Polish Senior Championships.
Sandra Nowak of KS Warta Poznań repeated it in a canoe: C1 200 m (51.23), C1 500 m (2:16.96) and the C2 500 m with Martyna Rassak. At the Junior European Championships in Szeged a week before Bydgoszcz she finished fourth in the C1 500 m.
Bartosz Kulpa of KS GPower Gorzów won three races in two different crews: K2 200 m and 500 m with Maciej Bargiel, and K2 1000 m with Paweł Szott. The 500 m came down to four hundredths of a second — the smallest margin of the championships.
Doubles went to, among others, Mateusz Augustyniak of KS AZS-AWF Gorzów, junior world champion in the C4 500 m at Montemor-o-Velho 2025 and European silver medallist in the C2 1000 m at Szeged 2026, plus Fortunat Łakomy of UKS Victoria Wałcz and Magdalena Turowska of Dojlidy Białystok, who each took two Youth Olympics titles.
A category of its own belongs to the athletes who took three medals and no title. Oliwia Borucka of KKW 1929 Kraków raced 500, 1000 and 5000 m and finished second every time. The same line — three silvers, no gold — belongs to Eryk Baczyński and Kamil Szreder of Zawisza and Natasza Szymańska of Astoria.
The rest of the 2026 Polish canoe calendar
Bydgoszcz closes the domestic championship block for the youngest categories, but August and September are the densest months in the Polish calendar.
6–9 August, Poznań — the 41st Polish U23 Championships, 25th Polish Youth Championships and 15th Polish Paracanoe Championships. For the older Bydgoszcz juniors this is the season's first domestic confrontation with the U23 ranks.
26–30 August, Poznań — the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships. A world-level event on Polish water; for juniors mainly a benchmark, though several of this field already race seniors regularly.
1 September — the Polish Canoe Marathon Championships, the natural next step for Sunday's 3000 and 5000 m winners.
5 September — the Polish Masters Championships in Wałcz and the Czechowice CUP.
6 September, Chełmża — the 36th Leon Grabowski Memorial, one of the oldest regattas on the calendar.
10–13 September, Bratislava — the Olympic Hopes Regatta. This is the season's key date for the younger-junior category: the first serious international start for the 2010–2011 age group, meaning the Youth Olympics winners.
The longer horizon matters too. A younger junior born in 2011 reaches senior age around 2029–2030, and the Brisbane 2032 Olympics fall squarely in their best years. The 2008 age group that won the Junior Championships will be twenty in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic year — the age of today's U23 front runners.
